The Mining Cluster recently celebrated a remarkable safety milestone, achieving Zero Harm, with the celebrations held in May 2025. This marked only the second time in the Mining Cluster’s history that such an achievement has been recorded. What makes it even more noteworthy is that the teams operated for over 12 months without a single injury leading up to the milestone.
This success reflects strong management commitment and the effectiveness of several SHE and Mining Cluster initiatives, including the SHE Master Class and the FOG Campaign.
During the same period, Mimosa underwent external audits by DQS, including:
- A recertification audit of its Business Management System (BMS) aligned to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, and
- A surveillance audit of its Energy Management System (EnMS) aligned to ISO 50001.
The auditors recommended recertification of the systems and maintenance of certification respectively.
Further SHE initiatives included:
- SHE Symposium for contractors, reinforcing understanding of the Contractor SHE Document (CSHED) as part of continuous improvement in SHE performance.
- A comprehensive ESG awareness programme is currently underway for all employees. In parallel, ESG principles have already begun to be incorporated into key activities and management processes.
Another significant milestone was the recording of 7,016,012 fatality-free shifts as of the end of May 2025, a powerful reflection of Mimosa’s sustained focus on safety, health, and environmental stewardship.
